CRAIG Newby has been ruled out of at least the opening phase of the new season for the Leicester Tigers in the No7 shirt after surgery on a knee injury, bringing despair to many a Tigers fan.
The All Blacks Overseas social media sites have been filled with get well messages from fans lending their support for Craig during his recovery time.

Craig thanked all of his fans for their support and good wishes through his Twitter account, @craignewby6, and said: “Thanks for the well wishes, gutted to b out for a while, but will b back better than ever soon.”
Tigers director of rugby, Richard Cockerill said: "Newbs has had a bit of a problem with the knee and it was decided that he would require an operation.
"We expect to be without him for at least the opening phase of the season while he comes through a thorough rehabilitation programme.
"It's a blow for Newbs and for the club because his experience and his leadership have proved very important for the squad. He enjoyed an excellent season in 2010/11 and we were looking for him to play a big part again this year, especially as we will be missing a number of our experienced players and leaders due to the Rugby World Cup."
The news that Australian flanker, Julian Salvi will be joining Tiger’s ahead of the new season has helped to soften the blow regarding news of Craig’s injury.
