Craig Newby injury woes for new season

CRAIG Newby has been ruled out of at least the opening phase of the new season for the Leicester Tigers in the No7 shirt after surgery on a knee injury, bringing despair to many a Tigers fan.

The All Blacks Overseas social media sites have been filled with get well messages from fans lending their support for Craig during his recovery time.

Thomas Waldrom's Selection for England World Cup Squad

Congratulations to New Zealand born Tiger’s player Thomas Waldrom on his selection for the England World Cup training squad.

He is joined by Leicester team mate, Manusamoa Tuilagi to make up the preliminary 45 man squad for the upcoming World Cup in New Zealand in September.

Cup final match, preview by Craig Newby

Pre match report from Tigers Captain Craig Newby

This is it, the final we've all been working so hard for has finally arrived. For the Saracens a chance at redemption from last year's nailbiter, for us a chance to cap off a long tough year with success over another great foe.

Tigers vs saints

An exciting semi final took place at Welford road with a number of kiwis on the park. Captain Craig Newby was delighted with the result (tigers winning 11-3)  and the team now look forward to a final at Twickenham in two weeks time against Saracens. The Saints Are Coming!

Greenday and U2 said it best with their version of 'House of the Rising Sun', I've changed the first paragraph but the message is clear.

'There's a house in Leicestershire, they call it Welford Rd
It has been the ruin of many a boy, and god, I know of some!!'

'The Saints are coming, the saints are coming. I say no matter how hard they try, they won't break the Tiger Pride.'

Super XV Round 13

Round 13 of Super Rugby is here with the highlight being the battle of the colours, Reds v Blues. The top of the table Blues face a tricky road trip to Brisbane where the Reds have won 11 games on the bounce. The Blues won a hard fought match last weekend against the Canes’ and have really impressed the pundits this year by grinding out victories, something which the Blues have lacked in recent years. This is a tough one to pick as both sides have plenty of game breakers. Blues to break the Reds home victory run, by 4.
